The flow of the river

13 01 2007

Have you ever seen any river changing direction of its flow? Possible. The Yellow River (Huang He), in China is the 7th longest river in the world and the 2nd longest river in China after Yangtze River. It is 5464 km in length. During the long history of China, the Yellow River has been considered a blessing as well as a curse and has been nicknamed both “China’s Pride” and “China’s Sorrow”. Records indicate that, from 602 BC to present, the river’s course made at least 5 major large-scale changesin direction and its levees were breached more than 1,500 times. A major course change in 1194 took over the Huai River drainage system throughout the next 700 years. The mud in the Yellow River literally blocked the mouth of the Huai River and left thousands homeless. The Yellow River adopted its present course in 1897 after the latest course change occurred in 1855. So it is possible for the flow of the river to change its directions. Just not many chances to witness it. I’ve always thought any river flow will always remain the same. How powerful is the internet? Ha ha ha ha….

I went for an interview session for studies yesterday morning. How did I do? Terrible! I think it was disastrous! I’ve never in mind thought that such an interview will be this tough. I think my ignorance to the happenings around me caused me the chance, even though the result isn’t announced yet. I had not much choice. Sometimes being honest ain’t that good. But I’d rather be honest and flung the interview than bluff my way and I know I will not be able to “smoke” the board. I’ve done my best. If my best ain’t getting me thru, then I’ve to face that fact. I felt very empty now. So hollow. So sad. Where? Where can I find my solace? Where? =( Can I find a hole and hide in there?! =( Kanashi~ Doushite~ Kanasai~ Kaninei~
