Its my last day here in Rockhampton (& Australia, as a matter of factly) today. The past 3 days have been nothing short of excellent. The friendly people at our hotel, The Rockhampton Plaza, were SUPERB! If anyone were to pop by Rockhampton, The Rockhampton Plaza has to be your Top Choice for a stay.

Been shopping around yesterday and boy was it a good “expedition”. Now I can totally understand why my wife enjoys shopping. Ha! =P I’m usually a “target” shopper. Meaning, I know wat I want to get and go straight to the place to get that particular stuff only. I will seldom divert from my planned route. Hmm… Too rigid? Well? I’m not as rigid when it comes to other stuffs. =P Anyway, I got myself an Oakley Flak Jacket XL for Aus$207. I dunno how cheap is it compared to back home, but it was cool. =) And I bought like more than 10 packets of Starbursts Candies from Woolsworth. =D Oh! And my favourite Nestle Aero Mint Chocolates!

I’ll be flying back home tonite at 2100hrs and expected to touch down at T2 before 0200hrs SGP time. This trip here have been more than an experience for me. Besides celebrating my 34th birthday here, its my maiden trip Down Under. All the locals I’ve met here were tremendously friendly and helpful. =) And of cos, to the people of Rockhampton – A BIG THANK YOU!! =D Hope to be back here again someday… Goodbye, Rocky!

Its been a tough 2 weeks thus far. And I’m now having a deserving break. =) Not much, jus a couple of days. But its good enuff! I had my first MacDonald’s meal in Australia today. A quarter pounder meal. =D We’ll be here for the next 3 days and then it will be goodbye Australia and home sweet home.

Not being in the field for the past 8 years didn’t help me much, but I was quickly accustomed to the lifestyle. =) And I haf to say that life in the field these days are exceptionally good, as compared to the past. Hot showers, latrines, fresh ration, nice comfy “cross-legs” to sleep on, sleeping bags, pillows, etc. The service support were excellent! And to top it off, I got to know some very wonderful pple from here. Life will be boring and “tough” if not for a new good friend, Ronald. Thank you, Sir! =D From the bottom of my heart. Truely, deeply, madly…

And I celebrated my 34th birthday in the field. It was raining, but I could feel the warmth when the field chef prepared a sumptous meal for me that night. It was really heart-warming! Thank you, Uncle Soon and Jonathan! =D Such good times will always be foond memories for me… Time to hit the deck! Not having enuff sleep the past week has made me alittle cranky. Hahaha… So good nite for now…
