Its the lunar chinese new year period once again! And for a long, long time had I have the chance to participate in such a “massive” celebration with a few hundred colleagues. Haha! But well, as usual, the girls stole all the “show” from the performances during the nite. Kudos to them for making the nite alittle bit more enjoyable (just a little bit more, being the eye candies). =P Ok, back to work liao… =(

I’ve uploaded my 3000th picture on my flickr site. =D Its really amazing to be uploading these much pictures in such a short span of time. And I didn’t simply upload any picture I took. I’ve only selected those that I really liked, or those that are necessary. =) Anyway, I made another massive decision last week. It was between the 70-200mm f2.8 IS L Lens or the Elinchrome 400 FX studio lights. I chose the latter. The verdict? Awesome results!! Look at my 3000th pic above. I love my new toy! =D

Its supposed to be a month of joyous celebrations but it ain’t happening to me. Whatever that’s left of December wil be what’s left for me to spend my time with loved ones. =( Maybe I shld try loggin on to http://www.ineedabreak.com.sg? Hahaha!!

Goodbye, Rockhampton!

Its my last day here in Rockhampton (& Australia, as a matter of factly) today. The past 3 days have been nothing short of excellent. The friendly people at our hotel, The Rockhampton Plaza, were SUPERB! If anyone were to pop by Rockhampton, The Rockhampton Plaza has to be your Top Choice for a stay.

Been shopping around yesterday and boy was it a good “expedition”. Now I can totally understand why my wife enjoys shopping. Ha! =P I’m usually a “target” shopper. Meaning, I know wat I want to get and go straight to the place to get that particular stuff only. I will seldom divert from my planned route. Hmm… Too rigid? Well? I’m not as rigid when it comes to other stuffs. =P Anyway, I got myself an Oakley Flak Jacket XL for Aus$207. I dunno how cheap is it compared to back home, but it was cool. =) And I bought like more than 10 packets of Starbursts Candies from Woolsworth. =D Oh! And my favourite Nestle Aero Mint Chocolates!

I’ll be flying back home tonite at 2100hrs and expected to touch down at T2 before 0200hrs SGP time. This trip here have been more than an experience for me. Besides celebrating my 34th birthday here, its my maiden trip Down Under. All the locals I’ve met here were tremendously friendly and helpful. =) And of cos, to the people of Rockhampton – A BIG THANK YOU!! =D Hope to be back here again someday… Goodbye, Rocky!

My first Macdonald’s meal in Rockhampton

My first Macdonald’s meal in Rockhampton, originally uploaded by Lobinhoot.

Its been a tough 2 weeks thus far. And I’m now having a deserving break. =) Not much, jus a couple of days. But its good enuff! I had my first MacDonald’s meal in Australia today. A quarter pounder meal. =D We’ll be here for the next 3 days and then it will be goodbye Australia and home sweet home.

Not being in the field for the past 8 years didn’t help me much, but I was quickly accustomed to the lifestyle. =) And I haf to say that life in the field these days are exceptionally good, as compared to the past. Hot showers, latrines, fresh ration, nice comfy “cross-legs” to sleep on, sleeping bags, pillows, etc. The service support were excellent! And to top it off, I got to know some very wonderful pple from here. Life will be boring and “tough” if not for a new good friend, Ronald. Thank you, Sir! =D From the bottom of my heart. Truely, deeply, madly…

And I celebrated my 34th birthday in the field. It was raining, but I could feel the warmth when the field chef prepared a sumptous meal for me that night. It was really heart-warming! Thank you, Uncle Soon and Jonathan! =D Such good times will always be foond memories for me… Time to hit the deck! Not having enuff sleep the past week has made me alittle cranky. Hahaha… So good nite for now…

Merseyside Derby – 20 Oct 07

Evertonians@SODs_20Oct07-1, originally uploaded by Lobinhoot.

It was my “maiden” gathering, at the SODs Irish Pub along Tras Street, with the Singapore Evertonians Supporter Group. The feeling and atmosphere was AMAZING!! It just felt like being at Goodison Park itself. =D We all felt like old friends even when most of us only met the very first time. Such was the “brotherhood” of the Everton supporters! There were practically no strangers once u were inside the pub, wearing the blue (some white, some gold :p) top.

Nothing much could be said about the match though. The boys in blue played their hearts out in the full 90mins. But the only difference was the man in black. Matt Cullenburg, you will definitely pay for your mistakes!!!!! The Referee’s committee should fine and demote him to the lower divisions! I bet our S-league refs could’ve done a much better job on saturday. The supporters’ hearts broke in the dying seconds of the match, deep into injury time. But I must say Phil Neville made a spectacular safe. Haha!! Maybe Steve McClaren could consider putting him in goal, instead of the new Paul “butter-fingers” Robinson. =P Still, it was a bitter pill to swallow. It doesn’t matter if we’ve lost the game to a good opponent. But to lost the derby in such a fashion, was definitely unacceptable! My hope is that we go to Anfield in the return match and give Liverpool a thrashing! Its a hope for now, but I am sure it could be a reality.

Thank you, friends!

Friends!, originally uploaded by Lobinhoot.

Its been a hectic September for me. The Kiwis came over to do some training with our boys in S’pore. And I must say it was definitely a very enjoyable experience for me and some of my colleagues who interacted with them. I’ve to admit they seems rather “unfriendly” in the beginning, but as soon as the initial “barrier” gets knock over, all hell breaks loose. Hahaha! In a good way. I’m sure it is in every human to be weary of others, especially since this is the very first meeting between them and some of us. But I’ve always enjoyed some good company. And Stuart and gang certainly were very good company! I’m already missing them this very moment. Haha! Actually its rather sad to say goodbye to a bunch of good friends I’ve made during these 3 weeks. Day in, day out, I was with them. Its been the BEST 3 weeks ever since coming to this new workplace. Am trying to hold my emotions back now. Hahaha! Silly me, eh? =D NZ is just a flight away. Well, 10 hours to be exact. And they will be expecting me over there this December or so. I’ll plan for a trip, definitely. And it is heartening to hear them all say they will wanna host me well.

I must say I have done myself and my country proud, by giving my Kiwi pals the most of watever I could. I’ve been their liasion officer, tour guide, street directory, information booth, driver, emergency point of contact, etc. But most importantly, I was their friend. =) And I’m really glad I’ve made 48 more new friends from a distant land – New Zealand! And I’ve got to know some of them real well too! And I am grateful to be given the opportunity to offer my services to them while they were here. I’ve shot a total of 2,115 photos since the day they touched down in Singapore. =D I’ve given them my car decal, so if u happen to see the Lobinhoot decals in NZ, say “hi”, cos they r my friends!

Sweet As!!

ToyBoyz II, originally uploaded by Lobinhoot.

Hasn’t been blogging lately. What else am I busy with? Well, werk of cos! And, ermm… Photography? =D I had the honour to be able to do a shoot for Jean Danker and her “Feline” friends – Smitten & Kitten. This was for their upcoming Toy Boy Season II. The theme was “Sexy”. So do you think it was a success? I dunno wat you will be thinking, but I sure thought it was sexy. =D My nose almost bled. Wahahahaha! =D Anyway, it was both fun and enjoyable to do such shoots. When you have a theme to follow, nothing much should deviate. Stay tuned to Class 95, boys! And make a date with Jean and her “feline” friends at Clarke Quay for the Toy Boy Season II selections on 6th of September 2007…

Happy 42nd National Day!!

NDP 2007 – 9 Aug 07, originally uploaded by Lobinhoot.

The nation celebrated our 42nd birthday today, 9 Aug. I was at an exclusive location today, due to some “hiccups” in getting me certain access into the parade ground. Anyway, its over. So I am not gonna dwell on it. And anyway, I’ve got an even better deal for being at the Sheare’s Bridge today! Its an awesome view and certainly breath-taking!!! Check out my other pics on flickr!

 Happy Birthday, Singapore!!! =D
